Board of Directors

The Board of Directors for the Southern Crossing Neighborhood Association generally meets monthly, on the 3rd Thursday from 5-7 pm. Please watch this page and subscribe to our newsletter for more information regarding upcoming meetings.

Members of the SCNA are welcome to attend and observe any Board of Directors meeting. Currently, all meetings are held via Zoom. To request a Zoom invitation, email [email protected] no later than noon of the day preceding the meeting. Time will be granted to guests to provide thoughts and feedback to the Board, if desired.

Please contact the Chair ([email protected]) at least 2 days in advance of a meeting if you would like to formally request time on the Board agenda.

General Membership

There shall be at least one Annual General Membership Meeting during the Fall (Oct – Dec) of each year. The business of the Annual General Membership Meeting shall include a report from the Board of Directors on the state of the Association and the election of vacant Board of Directors positions.

Public Board Meeting, Thursday, October 18, 2018, 6 to 8:00 pm
At this public/board meeting we have invited Councilor Moseley and mayoral candidate to be our special guest and enlighten the SCNA on his campaign agenda. Light snacks and beverages will be provided. All who live (rent or own), or work in the neighborhood are invited. At this monthly meeting, we will also discuss issues and events that have an effect on our neighborhood. We follow an agenda and use Robert's Rules of Order.

Public Board Meeting, Thursday, September 20, 2018, 6 to 8:00 pm

At this public/board meeting we have invited Kevney Dugan, President and CEO of Visit Bend who will enlighten the neighborhood on the latest activities of Visit Bend. We will discuss the lessens learned from our 2nd Annual Southern Crossing Neighborhood Association (SCNA) 2nd Annual picnic and trash pickup, new business and line up guest speakers for the October Public Meeting.

All who live (rent or own), or work in the neighborhood are invited. At this monthly meeting, we discuss issues and events that have an effect on our neighborhood. We follow an agenda and use Robert's Rules of Order.

The location of the meeting for this month is at the Atrium, 291 SW Bluff Drive, #110, Bend (Marjorie Meret-Carmen).

Public Board Meeting, Thursday, August 16, 2018, 6 to 8:00 pm

At this public/board meeting we will execute our plans for the Southern Crossing Neighborhood Association (SCNA) 2nd Annual picnic and trash pickup, which was a huge success last year. This is a great time to get involved!

All who live (rent or own), or work in the neighborhood are invited. At this monthly meeting, we will also discuss issues and events that have an effect on our neighborhood. We follow an agenda and use Robert's Rules of Order.

We have a line up that includes: Shon Rae, Deputy Managing Director for the Central Oregon Irrigation District (COID), Chad Bettesworth from Pahlisch Homes, and Laura Underhill with Bend Parks and Recreation, as well as Ned Myers who is requesting permission to do a mural art project with Pine Ridge Elementary on the new concrete structure under the Brookswood Bridge.

At this public/board meeting we will also kick off plans for the Southern Crossing Neighborhood Association (SCNA) 2nd Annual picnic and trash pickup, which was a huge success last year. This is a great time to get involved!

Special guests this month include Bend's Fire Chief, Larry Langston, Deputy Chief of Administration, Bill Boos, and Public Information Officer, Jodie Barrram, as well as a conversation with Central Oregon LandWatch Executive Director, Paul Dewey, and Staff Attorney, Rory Isbell.

SCNA General Member Meeting, Thursday, May 4, 2017

The SCNA General Membership Meeting is being held Thursday, May 4, 2017, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Bend Parks & Recreation District Office in the Riverbend Conference Room located at 799 SW Columbia Street, Bend, Oregon 97702. In honor of Cinco de Mayo, the association will be serving chili, 13 bean chili, and cornbread. Bring your appetites!

SCNA General Member Meeting & Board Nominations, Thursday, February 9, 2017

The SCNA General Membership Meeting is being held Thursday, February 9, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Bend Parks & Recreation District Office in the Riverbend Conference Room located at 799 SW Columbia Street, Bend, Oregon 97702.

Notice of Public Hearing is scheduled for Monday, February 6, 2017 at 5:30 p.m.

The meeting location is the City of Bend Council Chambers located downtown Bend. Please attend or provide written comments if you are against the zone change from standard to medium density. Written comments need to be received by January 23, 2017.
