Southern Crossing Transportation Issues Survey Results
Thanks to the 249 respondents who took our survey! The results will shape what the SCNA Board works on in the coming months.
Overall, traffic congestion at Reed Market and Bond was the biggest concern. The ranking of transportation issues, from highest to lowest, was traffic congestion, emergencies (evacuation & first responder access), traffic cutting through neighborhoods, safer pedestrian and bike crossings, and a distant last was parking on neighborhood streets.
The areas of most concern, from highest to lowest, were Reed Market, Bond-Brookswood, a new south bridge over the Deschutes River, followed closely by neighborhood streets, with Columbia Street being a distant last.
Respondents locations ranged from 53% in the Southwest area of SCNA to only 6% in the Northwest. 5% were from outside of SCNA.
These results were provided to City Council at the February 4th Council Meeting along with a request that the City works with us on the next survey on solutions. The Board is focused on getting the best solution to the Bond-Reed Market Roundabout. More information will come soon with a request for you to participate.
