The Southern Crossing Neighborhood Association First Annual Neighborhood Trash Pickup and Picnic Saturday was a huge success. Attendees made quite a haul with over 15 bags of trash. More than 30 neighbors participated in the event and neighboring association residents asked if they could sign up with the SCNA for next years event! Many passerby’s stopped to thank volunteers for picking up the litter alongside the roadways surrounding Blakely Park. The only incident we had was the ice table collapsed due to the weight! We moved all the drinks to the ice chests and repurposed the table for desserts and side dishes.
