The Environmental Center, Energize Bend, Envision Bend and the City of Bend have teamed up with Energy Trust of Oregon and Solar Oregon for a Solarize campaign, running August 15 through October 31, to make it easy and more affordable to install solar. Any homeowner with a Deschutes County address is eligible to participate.

Why install solar? It saves money on annual electricity bills and it’s good for the environment. As more residents go solar, it helps build a more sustainable community. Adding battery storage to solar can help it do even more by providing backup power during outages.

Solarize Deschutes includes exclusive discount pricing through pre-qualified Energy Trust solar trade ally contractors. The discounts can be combined with tax credits to save thousands of dollars on a solar installation. Pacific Power customers can also get Energy Trust cash incentives and income-qualified households are eligible for special increased incentive amounts. Renters can participate in Solarize Deschutes by subscribing to a community solar project.

Free educational workshops
Solar Oregon and Energy Trust will host free solar workshops where residents can get answers to all their solar questions. The workshops will explain how solar and battery storage works, how much solar can save on electricity bills, and the discounts and incentives available during this campaign.

You must request a bid by October 31 to lock in Solarize discount pricing, but the solar installation can be completed any time up until June 30, 2025.
