Deschutes River Access and Habitat Restoration Plan

The Bend Parks & Recreation District has made a plan for recreational access and habitat restoration at parks along the Deschutes River. Projects in Riverbend Park and Farewell Bend Park (including the Cedarwood trailhead) in SCNA are part of the plan. They are looking for public comment on the draft plan. The planning team has worked to incorporate community needs in balancing river access and habitat restoration. Adoption of the plan is anticipated this fall, with the implementation of projects starting this year and continuing over the next decade. To review the draft plan and comment on it, go to https://www.bendparksandrec.org/riverplan by August 20.
