Bend Tree Preservation Amendments Hearings

The City of Bend is in the final stages of amending its Development Code to change how trees are preserved (or not) by developers. These amendments include updated tree preservation standards, and requirements for street tree and water-efficient planter strip landscaping. For more information on the proposed changes, visit the city’s tree code webpage. You can also directly download the draft amendments here. The final meetings are as follows:

  • The Planning Commission will hold a work session at their meeting on Monday June 3rd at 5:30 pm to review the proposed code amendments. Public input is not taken during this work session, but you can watch the discussion. Register to attend via Zoom using this link, or watch a YouTube live stream.
  • Public input will be taken at the Planning Commission public hearing on Monday June 10th at 5:30 pm. Following this hearing, the Planning Commission will make a recommendation on the amendments to the Bend City Council. This meeting will be conducted via Zoom and in person at the Bend City Hall, Council Chambers, 710 NW Wall Street. Instructions on viewing and listening will be included on the agenda, which can be found on the Planning Commission webpage a few days in advance of the meeting.
  • The final public input opportunity will be at the Bend City Council public hearing on Thursday June 20th at 7 pm. Information on attending via Zoom or in person will be posted on the council’s meetings webpage closer to the meeting date.
